America's Run Out of Stuff
Out here on my Spring break at the moment and the normal suppliers I use have sold out of most of the common pistol and rifle calibre reloading gear, cases, heads, ready made ammo etc etc.
I was in Bass Pro Sporting Goods store yesterday and their shelves have been stripped, according to their salesmen, all new supplies are being bought almost immediately.
Gun sales are still through the roof.
Apparently, it's been like this since the US Guvment made its pronunciations about further controls.
Well done Obumma, must be on some sort of commission.............
Cheers

Re: America's Run Out of Stuff
My shooting buddy in Virginia is bemoaning the total lack of re-loading components to be had, he says that even .22 ammo is unavailable!
ukrifleman.
ukrifleman.
Re: America's Run Out of Stuff
Same down in Florida. A friend was telling me that 5.56/.223 is pretty scarce and 9mm, .45ACP and even .22lr are stupidly expensive due to shortages.
Re: America's Run Out of Stuff
Where abouts are you Paul? if you're in Arizona drop me a PM
Some pistol ammo appearing, got 1100 .40SW last week. Sports stores are sold out, as is Walmart. .223 is around $19/20 normally around $7/20 PMC etc.
as for 9mm and .22 mini mags - NOPE!

I'm down in South West Forida so quite a way from you. Shooting down here is good as we have quite a few ranges around the town and out in the Everglades. However, range plinking ammo' (9mm, .40, .45) has more than doubled in price since last December.
Luckily, I stocked up with 9mm a few years back so am not affected yet.

Hi Paul,
Yes a wee bit away - but if you're over this way the offer is always open whenever I am here.
.40SW coming through, got some private stuff to do mid week so thankfully supplies available, 1000 rounds should do the trick. Warming up nicely here but soon desert areas we use will be closed due to fire risk.
Brilliant this life isn't it

Re: America's Run Out of Stuff
Tell me about it.
I'm in Albuquerque, NM right now & stuff is VERY hard to find.
Limited to 200 primers a day from one gun shop & my favourite bulk buying place has none at all.
I even brought 400 .38spl cases with me from the UK & glad I did too, with a new Ruger GP100 to shoot.
Paying $4.25/100 for primers is a pain.
Spent three days at the NRA Whittington Centre & bought a brick of .22 each day - rationed to one a day but "only" $22.
I bought 2,000 158gr .358 LSWC before the madness began but loaded & shot most of them over the past 10 days & resupply is 8-10 WEEKS!
The only jacketed .357 I could get was 140gr XTP @ $21/100.
.224 & .308 ball is unobtainable.
Plenty of powder & AR 15's are back in the shops but magazines not so much - paid $29 for an 8 round Chip McCormick 1911 mag because I needed another for Practical Pistol.

Already hot here but the trouble is it's the start of the wet and stormy season. So when using the ranges in the glades, if the 'gators, snakes, spiders, panthers, bears don't get you, the lightning will. Best use the air conditioned indoor ranges around the area.
A guy I know has just bought a really nice compact Kimber .45 but hasn't shot it yet because of lack of ammo'. He has some special stuff that he's saving for home defense (hopefully never to be used) but has had to get a mate up north to source some 'plinking' stuff for practice. Still waiting for that so that I can help him out with getting used to it.
It can be a brilliant life....gotta luv 'merica

Re: America's Run Out of Stuff
Oddbod, AR mags making appearances now, P-Mags / Magpul at around $22.00, lots on the shelves, unlike a wee while ago when they were selling at $60-$70 EACH at gunshows. We just got 4 x 15 round 9mm mags for the Sig 229 three weeks ago. Some shops STILL ripping of, like $49-$54+tax for a Glock 23 13 round mag!!!!!!!!!!!! We paid $29 a time in February.
Merchant Firearms in Chandler are OK guys, no ripping off. The newly opened C2 (Caswells) in Chandler have good AR mag stocks, not sure about 1911 stuff though.
Paul, here it's just the "hot as hell" season starting, no humidity just DRYYYYYYYYYYYY! Of course any FB member welcome to shout if they are in AZ.
We are looking at 1911 Para Ordnance, it's got a nice chucky grip that suits my wee hands - not keen on the normal 1911, grip too thin for my liking. HK USP Compact is my favourite. Got a contact that does excellent Custom grips, laser etched and NICE! must try get a photo of the ones my colleague has.
