Finding a good K98 in the UK at "honnest price" is indeed very very hard ...
As finding a real sniper for 2K will sadly be nearly impossible unless you have a uber spot of good luck

Have you looked at C&G Firearms. Chris has some made up ones and the optics on the period scopes are out of this world for clarity! They really are super clear!
It is a lot of money to spend on these old girls but I can't see them getting cheaper at all. Prices are getting stronger!

Yes he's a good friend of mine, I had my eye on one last year but couldn't come up with the money at the time, my mosin nagant sniper came from him.MartinS wrote:lasbrisas wrote:I have one of these on my shopping list, will be getting a scoped one if possible but looking at £1500-£2000 probably and I just bought an AKM not long ago.

Ah. Chris is nice bloke and very helpful. Funny enough that's where I bought my Mosin PU from and he helped out with my G98!lasbrisas wrote:Yes he's a good friend of mine, I had my eye on one last year but couldn't come up with the money at the time, my mosin nagant sniper came from him.MartinS wrote:lasbrisas wrote:I have one of these on my shopping list, will be getting a scoped one if possible but looking at £1500-£2000 probably and I just bought an AKM not long ago.

Very nice looking k98 there Martin-glad you now have a use for all the brass and stripper clips I sent you
Taking my CE44 out for a blast tomorrow which should be fun (if the rain stops)
Me and a friend are having a bit of a friendly pre 1945 service rifle comp and only allowed to use mil-surp ammo-just found out that he is using a mint k31 and GP11 ammo thou. I think I will be buying the beers!
ps. If you want any more brass or stripper clips give me a shout, I am sure I could dig around and find some more.

Yes, full wet weather gear is a definite for the morning. I have shot it out to 800 yards at Barton Road and was doing ok (until the LSR mount became a bit loose emrolleyes) but usually up to 600 on paper and 900 ish on fig.11's with 55 Yugo surplus. Fig 11's tomorrow

I need to get some surplus at Bisley end of the month! Enjoy the shoot and if we see a Green Goddess at any point, putting out a scrubland fire I'll be thinking of you but I don't think that will happen me thinks!
