Ginger,
Have a look under National Shooting Organisations.
The Short Siberia issue was "discussed" to death awhile back!

Cheers Tony I missed that thread to be honest, So do I read it correctly that SS will be available fridays saturdays and sundays?

Its a bit of a pain if you cannot use it during the week and there are no benches on centry

more of a pain if you can't use it anytime because the NRA went bust without the income stream ....

There are other full bore ranges with in the same distance of me. Whenever I have shot at bisley on a friday the benches have always been fully occupied so I hope they will put some on centry if SS is a weekend only thing now.

Ginger - There's nothing to stop you bringing your own bench - You can buy folding ones, make one your self; or do what one of my clubs does (as a couple of members have trouble getting back up again after prone), and order one from the NRA...they will deliver it to the point for you free of charge (you supply your own chair)...

...the only difference will be that it's not under cover...but you can't have everything...

To be honest Dougan, I don't have the room in the car for that as well, it just seems a poor degradation in the services offered when you go facility with benches & under cover to having to order one. All this is pie in the sky because we have no information from the NRA (no surprise there), about what the future holds, i.e. benches or not.

Are you an NRA member?
In the last few months there has been more information on the NRA website regarding what is going on then has been posted in the last three years on their web page.

There has been snippets but nothing firm, but some information would be nice i.e. we are removing one facility during the week for commercial reasons but we are replicating the facilities on century with benches etc.

The NRA website isn't designed for people to search or find information easily. Why the NRA cannot setup a PHPBBS forum system like this for their members I don't know, they could regulation who the posters are and also manage the membership of the board.

Ginger, good point however I am not sure the NRA are particularly receptive to forums, certainly they were not impressed with this forum, 'insignificant' was the word used from memory.
