Good 5.56 surplus

#1 Post by JS569 »

Hi All

i regularly read info on her of people mentioning surplus 5.56 or 7.62. Does anyone recommend any 5.56 surplus for a straight pull and where I can get some from. I would also be interested in (if it is a long way from Yorkshire -leeds area) in how I can get it shipped?

Thanks in advance
saddler

Hannams, just off the A1 to the south of you have just had a delivery of Wolf in both 55gr & 62gr

As for deliveries from further afield...TNT is the courier...
BUT
As ammo MUST be entered on your FAC, then such deliveries MUST be to an RFD

You may find it difficult to get hold of "surplus" these days. Iraq, Afghanistan and Radway Green saying that they would no longer supply the civilian market....

As saddler said, there some half decent, reasonably priced factory out there.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Lithuanian GGG 5.56 62Gr is good stuff. Highly regarded by the CSR shooters.
Great for straight pulls.

Dunno if you can get it up north.

I use the 5.56 GGG in my SGC. Cycles very easliy, very accurate and last time I bought it from the NRA it was £38.00 / 100 (I think it is due to go up though). Not sure if it's avaialble near you though, sorry.

Regards

Mat
I enjoy my shooting but usually get a better group with the empty cases !!!!

thanks guys, I had heard RG was struggling to keep up with Military demand and having not seen some for a number of years now. I might check out T.H for the wolf stuff. I do intend on reloading for real accuracy but for fig 11 I'm quite happy knocking them down!

I have also heard that GGG stuff is good but as someone mentioned never seen it up north!

Your mileage may vary - but my AR doesn't like wolf much. The last lot I tried was metal with laquered cases and they got sticky to extract during rapid fire as the gun got warm. Probably Ok for slow fire plinking.

Try Dave at Valkyrie Rifles he might have GGG.
