Anschutz 1415/1416 .22LR bolt problem

#1 Post by matdoodson »

Evening,

I have an Anschutz 1415/1416 bolt action .22LR rifle. Not sure how it happened but the bolt seems to have lost it's tension. It looks as though a spring and ball bearing should keep the main two sections of the bolt together but this may have popped out!? As now the bolt will spin freely and fall apart if I'm not careful with it. I've searched the web / youtube but not been able to find any information on how to dismantle to inspect and hopefully repair the bolt.

Does anyone have any info or experience on this?

Cheers,
Mat

Is it a Match 54 or Match 64 bolt?

Sounds like you're describing the Match 64 bolt. There is a spring-loaded ball bearing or plunger inside that keeps the two halves together ... if I go to the club on Sunday I'll have a look at one of their Match 64s and see how that works.

In the meantime, you might find Anschutz's downloadable manuals useful: http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.ph ... &sprache=1

Hello Gaz, thanks for the reply. With the help of Google I'd say it is pretty much the Match 64 bolt. Cheers for the Anschutz link... looking on there the "64 S BR Sporter Benchrest - Repeater" describes the 1415/1416 but doesn't seem to go into detail about how to get to and check the spring loaded ball bearing.

If you're able to check one out that would be a proper sorting out!! Cheers...

In the meantime, now I have some alternative names for the rifle I can get back on Google!

Cheers Gaz!

Gaz,
Searching for "Match 64 bolt disassembly", instead of "1415/1416 bolt disassembly", I have found this set of diagrams which I think is what I need!

Thank you for giving me the helping hand I needed!! I'll have a go at stripping the bolt and see if it just needs a little clean and oil.
Cheers,
Mat
