So how can they?
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom
The United Kingdom comprises of Great Britain and Northern Ireland so how can an organization that no longer represents Northern Ireland continues to call itself UK*** ?

Is the new Journal out? I have not seen it yet if it is and it is not on the NRA site either.

Re: So how can they?
well i dont think they would like the precusor as used by Prince.
Having actually attended the event under discussion i agree with the factual statements made by Mr Granycome in his article.
His opinions ( where voiced) are as valid as anyones and more than some given that he has been shooting PSG and ROing matches for longer than most ( and more than any of the letter writers !!)
He did in fact leave out some details that might be viewed as detrimental to the match a whole in order that his piece did not take a negative tone but that seems to have been missed by the letter writers. Perhaps because it was awkward to acknowledge?

For those of us who haven't seen the new journal yet, what's this about?
Re: So how can they?
Northern Ireland was formerly a part of the UKPSA but have now formed their own Region under the IPSC rules.Gaz wrote:For those of us who haven't seen the new journal yet, what's this about?
The question has been raised about if the validity of calling an association the UK*** (whatever it may be) if Northern ireland is not part of the Region. It could be argued that the UKPSA ought now to be called the GBPSA.
That seems to be it in a nutshell.
i've not read the article but from the OP's comments I think that is what he was referring to.
I stand to be corrected if I am mistaken.

Re: So how can they?
That was a surprise!
Not that Northern Ireland has set up their own practical shooting chapter, but that the UKPSA actually still existed!!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

It was Team GB at the Olympics not Team UK because of the same reason.

Me too, considering how much IPSC appears to hate them and break its own constitution to stamp on themSim G wrote:That was a surprise!

Re: So how can they?
From what I heard, NI wanted to set up it's own region and the "UKPSA" council did everything (and I won't go into rumours here) they could think of to prevent them from doing so.
The UKPSA have been running low on friends recently anyway...
