Re: Usual Accurate BBC reporting.
Are people who have a history of domestic abuse any more likely to snap than someone who doesn't?
Re: Usual Accurate BBC reporting.
From what I've read of the comments by the coroner, it is how the police manage firearms licensing.
"Gun law reform" is the BBC spin.....

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

From my days in CID, yes.

So, where can I shoot deer with a shotgun?

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
God loves stupid people, that is why he made so many of them.

What it should have said then is people who have a known history of domestic abuse.Sim G wrote:SevenSixTwo wrote:Are people who have a history of domestic abuse any more likely to snap than someone who doesn't?

Also, shotgun has a right to ownership - police must prove a case against you. And a good thing too!

Not really, not the same way as you do with an FAC. With an SGC if the police can't give a reason why you shouldn't be granted one then you have the right to be granted one.
The thing that annoyed me was the coroner said "he accepted no-one in the Firearms Licensing Unit was guilty of acting in bad faith" what complete b@ll@cks, there were notes put on his file by the FEO opposing his grant and they were completely ignored by senior management.

Evening Peeps,
Its going to be the usual twaddle.....its them shooting folk thats the problem !!!
Yet another case of plod not doing his job, whilst having a shower, a thought came to me ( its like those that happen at 02:00 except that I can remember this one ).
Surely the Chief Constable of the concerned County ( works for Hungerford and Dunblane as well as Durham ), should be charged with Corporate Manslaughter ? If the Director of a Company has not fulfilled his management responsibilities and some body dies a a result, then they get charged ( at the very least under Health and Safety legislation " duty of care ? )
Especially when in the case of Dunblane and Hungerford, people and rank and file plod expressed concerns ( I can't remember which section of the HASAWA "Health and Sasfety at Work act applies but there is a section that deals with "acts and omissions" basically if you see a problem and do nothing, somebody gets hurt, its your fault! and quite right too IMHO)
' course nothing fair will happen, just be very grovelling to wives, mistresses, mother in laws, traffic wardens etc..... just in case they get asked at your next renewall !
Oh and they ask for a reason for having a shotgun, but its still a case of them (Plod) trying to find a reason why you shouldn't have one.
