Re: South African Gun Law

I visited the RSA in 1985 and quickly found a gunshop. That shop had FALs and R4s along with many different types of sporting long arms and handguns. The place was pretty busy. I don't know how much the firearms laws have changed since then but I sure lusted after one of the FALs and wished there was a way to get one home with me!

I have a friend from SA who now lives here, he told me he always carried a gun in the glove compartment of his car and to stop carjacking he had a set of flame throwers installed so that if someone tried to carjack him he could flick a switch and incinerate them. Also if someone breaks into your property you were allowed to shoot them, not sure if all of this is allowed now !
