Parcel2go are the biggest bunch of twats I've ever had the bad luck to give money to...

ParcleMonkey OR CollectMyParcel are much better

They both normally offer carriage of UP TO 30kg for under £10. Not sure how much extra the insurance will run to though

I need to declare what's in it because it'll go by air - and if it's x-rayed (probable) someone will have a freak-out...

Another problem is the weight - it appears Royal Mail won't handle anything that big. At least when I try on their website, it gives no options but suggests PF.
So why did you not use Parcel Force? They will carry the weight and there is the statement that they will carry deacts.

When the individual POs refused - did you ask for their reasons in writing along with the managers name? If it was me I would have then complained to Royal Mails Head Office, The Regulator and copy BASC. In addition to te complaint, send an invoice to them for your wasted time. They are making up rules "on the spot".

Parcel Force will not carry deacts unless it's a commercial customer.

Royal Mail will carry them but won't insure.

Royal Mail have issued a statement that they will carry deacts ... and Parcel Force are a division of Royal Mail. On what ground do they say they will not carry deacts? Again it must a totally uninformed member of staff. Give them a link to the Royal Mail statement and ask them why they are telling lies.

If they are claiming that and putting it in their Ts & Cs then BASC need to know as it proves the Royal Mail statement issued in January is a total lie.

Parcel Force have totally separate terms & conditions as they are a different company.

I spoke to Royal Mail directly about this just last week and they will not provide insurance on Standard Parcels . Parcel Force will not carry firearms/related parts (unless you have a business account with them).

That matters not - they are a different company whether a subsidiary or not and have totally separate T&Cs.

BUT Royal Mail stated that they will carry de-acts. Just because they have not bothered to make the changes to their Ts and Cs. And in fact they are not even a company but just a trading name.

To quote:
Business details

Royal Mail Group Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, number 4138203, registered office 100 Victoria Embankment, London, EC4Y 0HQ.

Parcelforce Worldwide is a trading name of Royal Mail Group Ltd. Parcelforce Worldwide's principal office is Lytham House, 25 Caldecotte Lake Drive, Milton Keynes, MK7 8LE. Royal Mail Group VAT registration number: GB243170002
Will you raise it with BASC and ask them to get RM to actually do what they say? Or will you not bother and do as many others do and ignore it?

Parcel Force operate under different T&Cs. There is zero point wasting time on it.
