0.22 pistols

#1 Post by EddieP »

During the Olympics there were rumours that 0.22 pistols may be considered for reclassification to section1. Has there been any progress, or is this dead in the water?

No progress at all. Another one of Cameron's 'bluff the punters / vote for me' speeches.

The last I heard they would remain sec5 with some limited sec5 permits being issued to the squad and coaches. I can't see it changing anytime soon

Two members, a father and son, of my local (indoor) club achieved the qualification score for selection to Team GB. They were both granted Section 5 authority. The son was under 18 at the time, so the father was given authority to posess his son's pistol as well. Neither was ultimately selected for the Olympics, but both retain Section 5 authority in preparation for the Commonwealth Games.

The storage requirements for those section 5 firearms really really (pleasantly) surprised me.

Vote UKIP. I suspect we'll have much better luck with them.

Are these qualification scores shot with air pistol?

I assume that you are only entitled to purchase a 22 target pistol rather go to Lantac and buy a Glock 17?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
