They would 'insist' and everyone would hand them in.

My FAC is valuable to me - but I wouldn't bargain with it for my freedom. [ignore the avatar!]

Then nothing will change....wouldn't be long before all guns are banned :bad:

Public perception is the key to maintaining our sport, and possibly even regaining some of the items we've lost as a direct result of losing public support over the years. People who like to dress up in current issue uniform and point guns at each other are not the sort of thing I think we should be associating with legal and safe shooting.

Anyway, I'm clearly in a minority here so I shall concede.
I'm sitting on the fence on this one but I've just been reading the comments on another website and will say you are certainly not on your own Gaz. Some of the comments have been very witty but the sentiments expressed leave you in no doubt as to what most of the posters think of the airsoft enactors that they saw at Stoneleigh.
I have also seen many comments on other sites, the trouble is once they get over the airsofters, they will go back to knocking whoever else on their "not cool enough/not neat enough/not green enough/not tweed enough" (delete as necessary) agenda, the fact is there a lot of intolerant people out there and we as a sport cannot afford to fracture anymore than we already are , Gaz if we were to take your view, then we would inevitably start blaming you for the excess's of some of your colleagues, and would that be fair? we would also be calling for the CSR shooters to abandon their camo kit and stop moving and shooting! and probably insisting that as the targets are big round black circles on white backgrounds that those "snipers" should give up their scopes and fit Diopter sights to their rifles! if you saw someone walking around with a pistol or rifle at the show you should have mentioned it to them there, no point coming here after the event and having a "press moment" razz

Eh He got shot didn't he? and not by an airsofter neither.
Back to the Show. I decided to go around 7 pm Saturday night. 460 odd miles. Stopped at 4 am had a quick sleep in the car too late for a hotel woke up at 8 20 ish cleaned me teeth had a large coffee and got to the show around 9 30 no major cues. Got in after parking on some hard standing. Had the Doughnut and coffee breakfast. Seen all I wanted to Bought some of ENS's new cleaning product. Had a very informative chat at March scopes about the 5 x 50 and will be buying one in the very near future. Bought some HPS ammo for the 308, 168 and 175 grain (The Styer likes the 175 will be interesting to see how the 168 performs.) Seen and bought a nice jacket which I was looking for. Left at around 2 pm for the drive home No severe weather encountered tho windy and rain most of the way. A couple of stops due to feeling tired and a little road rage incident around Glasgow woke me up and the adrenalin kept me wide awake till I got home around midnight. Got 35 mpg with a 3 liter twin turbo sitting at 70 75 and some spirited driving in between.
I must add I have a TOM TOM GO LIVE 1000 and it informed me both ways of road closures around junction 16 and between 17 19 on the motorway and recalculated routes with no problem. I also had to refuel and and didn't like the services prices. I punched in petrol on the tom tom search and it came up with a tesco station 3.2 miles from where I was took me straight to it and filled with much cheaper fuel. Sorry to sound like a tom tom sales man but I think its great.
The show was OK as for people moning about too much congestion moving about etc flippin ell what do you expect personal service at every turn. It's a big show and there are going to be other people there.

forbie from reports received it would appear that attendance figures on Sunday were much lower than those on Saturday which resulted in all the complaints of overcrowding. I wouldn't be surprised to find that this was mainly due to the power of the internet and to bad weather forcasts. I also wouldn't be surprised to find that as a result sales figures were much higher per capita on the Sunday.

Does it not occurr that by handing in an FAC in such circumstances without effective protest you would indeed be giving up your freedom - Your freedom to CHOOSE!

They're more into looking at the person rather than the gun. Can't remember the specifics, but I read somewhere that they were going back to the 1968 Act to define firearms and also allowing 'Self-defence' as a good reason to own, within the confines of your property. I'll see what else I can find and post.
