Berger me
Courtesy of Spud I received my copy of the Berger Reloading manual yesterday. Its delayed arrival is entirely may own fault, somehow getting it went on the back burner. I have both apologised to, and thanked, Spud.
I am disappointed; yes, I expected it to be all about Berger products, yes I expected it to be very much the same as all my other books on the subject and, yes I expected it to contain adverts for that is the way there things are.
Why am I disappointed? Well, much as Walt Berger may be a great bloke, excellent shot etc. I didn’t expect to get ninety pages of biography. I don’t need to be reminded of Walt’s pedigree; I wouldn’t have bought the book if I didn’t already know how good his bullets are. Many of my friends use Berger, I may even do so myself when I run out of Sierras.
Gripe over, typing this in word ( since about 0900) because there is a man up a pole outside and my internet is down ‘won’t be much longer, Sir.’ Well it’s been four bl%%^& hours!
Does anyone else feel the same? (About the book I mean, not my internet)
emrolleyes

Re: Berger me
After the Litz books I found the content very disappointing and quite sanitised. I gave the book to my neighbour the day after I received it.

Re: Berger me
Never bothered getting a copy as for some reason I cannot understand they don't do cast bullets. Not much of a bullet company.

Come on Bambi get some

Spud, NO REFUND IS REQUIRED!
It's Berger I'm disappointed with - definately not you.
Please, please, don't think of giving me a refund.
I shall keep the book and probably use it as a 'could do better' when talking to people about reloading.

I thought it was a good read - a couple of really good articles - plus I enjoyed Walt's biography and the J4 jackets stuff. Also, it lists data for quite a few cartridges which never appear in other manuals.
We can't expect too much from these books but, it easily saved me the cost of the book by getting me quickly onto the correct powder when developing a load for a 300WSM with 230gn Bergers.
Once again - thanks to Spud for taking the trouble to bulk order.
Re: Berger me
Certainly Spuds bulk deal is not in doubt, it was excellent service. I think I have been spoilt by Bryan's previous articles and books and part of me expected another such offering however this is a Berger book and not a Litz book.
