How about banning criminals.....
You're right Chuck it is daft. However there will have to be something that gives and high capacity mags isn't as bad as an AR ban!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Well yes mike but magazine or "Asault Rifle" bans are NOT the answer, banning criminals and applying existing laws is a start. Criminal prosecutions of felons is LOW in gun crime by all accounts.

Isn't a 30 round mag a "standard" capacity magazine? It's the most common size of magazine available, making it the "standard" magazine?

"High capacity magazines" is a term coined by the antis to attempt to demonise anything that holds more than 10 rounds, because it sounds more dangerous. Notice that they don't call 5 round magazines "low" capacity.

In my opinion, a high capacity magazine would be a drum mag or something capable of holding 50+ rounds.

Anything over what would normally be expected for that gun in my book. So for an AR 31+, Glock 17 18+ etc etc. As you say referring to any magazine over 10 rounds is an anti ploy to make things sound scary to ignorant people

Agree on that, I see that a recently bought Sig P229 mag with 14 is labelled high capacity on the box.

Did the original AR15 not come with a 20 round magazine, although 30 IS the norm.

Noticed today that 10/20 round AR type mags are now becoming dearer than 30 rounders... any????
