An article on the backlog of FAC in Hampshire.. Rod who features in the article is a member of the Itchen Valley Shooting Club. With whom I shoot once a month at Moodys Down.

A very balanced piece I think, where all parties came across well, with no hysterics! The Ol' Bill coughed their mistake nicely and took it on the chin!
Imagine a news program treating gun owners as "normal"......
This one did!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I can't believe they paid for his gun storage. He should sue for loss of amenity as well.

Good well balanced reporting.....How odd. <Insert shrugging emoticon here>
Re: BBC South Today.
How do you watch it? It just keeps diverting to other BBC programmes

I expect they've put a block on it by now Joe - Can't have a balanced report muddying the waters. smile2NitroJoe wrote:How do you watch it? It just keeps diverting to other BBC programmes

Re: BBC South Today.
BBC South Today does actually have a record of being pro gun.
Bruce Parker who was once their principle presenter is a TR competitor who I believe has represented Gurnsey.
I can also remember some sensible reporting on shooting as a sport when Jo Hossack won the Queens prize in 2000.
On the down side there was a BBC South Today article in the wake of Dunblane when Dorset police claimed a rocket launcher had been handed in.
The truth was it was an expended LAW 66 which is a "use once and drop" device; as a young squaddie in Germany I can remember the kids who's fathers were in 3 RGJ playing with them in the married quarters area!
