Kiss goodbye being able to get ahold of any black gun spare parts (especially magazines), and if you can get them they will be as crazily priced as they are over here Bad times

I can see a lock down on spairs comming out of the States as part of any new gun laws.
Also ammo/ anything firearm related...we will see...but it really isn't looking good guys.

In canada,im led to beleive that there are also more guns than people,with the exception that people and attitudes are differnt and so is the climate....it almost seems like they are able to think and behave rationally......sure they have shootings,but never anything like the u.s.,so i put it to you that its american society is tearing itself apart as time goes on ,leading to god knows what.....

Correct, but in Canada there are no semi automatic handguns held legally by private individuals and any S/A rifles are licensed.

I think it's pretty obvious that America has any number of socio-economic problems that aren't so prevalent north of the border. As someone of Canadian descent, I'd also add that Canadians are far nicer people

In Canada, you have to get a permit to own firearms which includes a half days safety training (or a full day for handguns I think). Surprisingly you don't need to be a citizen to obtain one.

The new proposals for USA is to stop import (to USA) not export of firearms or parts, the bigger companies will survive by scaling down, adapting and exporting more. The smaller AR companies will disappear, no doubt.

In all honesty, I wouldn't get into such a tiz. There is a long way to go, a hell of a long way.

Fienstein and her band of hoplophobes have a certain amount of sympathy from the US public and a load of media time. However, there's probably only one thing bigger than the gun in the US and that's the dollar....

Ban the import, manufacture and sale of 'assault weapons' and their parts..... That's billions of dollars worth of business. That equates to hundreds of millions of tax dollars. That equates to the US military and police being unable to get arms or parts, in short, it's a pipe dream.

In the cold light of day, when emotion has subsided and the issue can be looked at more objectively, I see the "compromise" being something akin to the 1994 ban. That didn't stop trade or the supply of parts.

In times such as these, the true enemy of the firearm is the shooter; what with all the "hoarding", and panic buying.

It doesn't help that retailers put prices up, thus fuelling the flames.
