When I moved I asked the force I was under at the time, they just said, once moved just let the new local force know, took guns and cabinet with, no RFD involved, had it all sorted in a matter of hours, new plod came over in a couple of weeks, swapped certs and all done.

Apologies, I know it is off topic however just got to share this one with you guys...

On the radio in the car today going up to Chesterfield, heard that stalking was to be made illegal and punishable. I instantly thought..."wha!? not another WHS they are out to get us again" scenario...turns out when I actually paid attention to what was being said it was to do with those other stalkers and not the hunter types

Yup, brain washed alright tongueout

I wonder what calibre would be legal for stalking stalkers?

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

God loves stupid people, that is why he made so many of them.

Revisiting this for future reference... can I assume moving with your firearms is a 'legitimate reason' to have them in your posession i.e. in a car?

What about ferry travel?

If I were to take the safe option and send them via RFD, would the receiving Mainland RFD recognise a FAC issued from a different Force (i.e. from PSNI) when I came to pick them up?

Thanks Christel, we don't fully move in until Jan 12/13, still have to get carpets fitted, find space for 22 years of accumulated cr@p from a 3 bed semi with loft space in a 2 bed bungalow (anyone know how to build a Tardis?)

So far I've managed to get it painted and that's it!, did a floor plan as to where everything will/won't fit and will have to put the gun cabinets into wardrobes as we have no cupboards to hide them in like we have here.

Room sizes are all completely different so I'll be lucky to get 2 bedrooms out of the new carpets I had fitted here a few months ago!, I'm still trying to remember why I thought it would be a good idea to move kukkuk

Internet access will be very limited for the next month as Openreach can't fit a new phone line until Jan 31st :bad: Why they can't use the existing bit of cable is beyond me.

So apart from that and having to everything slowly on my own it's going quite well emrolleyes

After we get sorted I hope someone will remind me never to move again troutslapping

Please forgive me if this isn't a little bit too simplistc but why don't you simply formally notify the Chief Constable who issued the certificates of the permanent change of address. There is a note on the BASC website on the whole process.
