Pipe dream .. Or is it ??

#1 Post by zzr1100 »

My late dad would have been 70 in 2014 ... In his memory I would like to shoot a Bren gun and an FN
Whilst wearing a Rhodesian shirt with a stick of biltong in my pocket .. I don't think this is achievable in the UK .. Anyone know different ?

But the shirt might be seen as "Inciting Racial Hatred" ...

Well I have the rugby shirt and I make my own biltong .. I think the Bren and the FN will prove tricky tho !

Well if you were over here, I could probably arrange it.
I have a FN FAL and a Aussie L1A1 SLR on the wall right in front of me.
The Bren I'm sure I know someone with one.

Reproduction & original Rhodesian army shirts are widely available on the internet

SLR = quite a few straight pulls around

Bren = try Belgium/Norway/Finland, full-auto ownership still allowed

Well, it can physically be done in the UK, you can speak to a Section5 dealer who has a full-auto BREN, and a real SLR, but, unfortunately, the realms of reality means that unless you somehow get asked onto the cast of a documentary where they shoot these weapons, that isn't going to happen.

The only thing I can think of is to travel to a country that will let you. :cool2:

...or attend a WW2 re-enactment where a Sectrion 5 dealer attends to hire out full-auto guns to folk for the weekend - happens on a regular basis!!
That'd be the Bren part taken care of, but not with live ammo
