Maybe he's looking at the RL7+ http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/products/6 ... emier.html

I went for this one instead (and now need another!) http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/products/b ... ilver.html

The top locking boxes are fairly small, the exact same cabinet size is available as an MT9+ for £30 less, http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/products/9 ... extra.html
How it suddenly becomes capable of storing 9 guns instead of 6/7 is anyones guess (unless it's a Tardis!).

A separate ammo/bolt safe from Argos is also worth looking at, go for the larger one, http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Search/se ... 001026.htm

Which one? the RL7+ or MT9+

Why do that company give it a different name? It only confuses when comparing.

Give GameFayre a call: http://www.gamefayre.co.uk/Brattonsound ... tinel-Plus

Their prices include VAT whereas the SafeShop quotes without ... GameFayre will negotiate too. They do not hold stock but as soon as you order they order direct from Brattonsound who will deliver direct to you.

Been ringing around and they're telling me that most suppliers order direct from BS - so the situation's the same everywhere!

MT9+ No shelf or box
RL7+ Locking
SS9+ Shelf
ST9+ Locking Box

Externally all are the same size.

The RL7+ is designed to store guns with scopes fitted, whereas the 9 series are not. The 7 are arranged across the safe but with the 9 there are also locations on the side.

The box is full width with approximate dimensions (external) : 400w x 225d x 190h

It will only take them a couple of days to manufacture one. I had a special - RL7+/SL9+ made for me without the foam inserts but two extra shelves and it took just over a week from order to delivery.

What price have Gamefayre quoted?

250/350 buy/hold to 500/600.
You don't get buy / hold in N Ireland you get a maximum quantity authorised. As for amount of ammo for club use you can get 1000 rds in 9mm or .45 so i don't see why you wouldn't get 1000 rds in .308.

It depends if you are going to be target shooting or quarry shooting. (or a combination of booth) figures in the manual of guidance are significantly lower for quarry shooters.
If the rifle is a AR type or any other military type / looking rifle in N Ireland you will only get it for club use only not for the fields that includes .22.
