Fill with Hard as Nails, shape to look like the cabinet is inset - should work. I know someone who's done just that! Not me of course....

It will look OK but will not stop a jemmy being forced in. The problem it will cause is that it will glue the cabinet to the wall so you will not be able to remove it easily without cutting filler.

No, because they would not be too worried about ripping off the paint and skim or paper face of the plasterboard
