First time I have read this thread.

I must admit that I started out calling them heads but now they are bullets. That is not to say I don't mess up between rounds, cartridges etc

What has been interesting for me is to see yet another topic be added to the list of subject that seem to get people wound up. As they say, nowt as queer as folk!

Our list of emotive subjects stands at - Bullets/Heads, Cats, Muslims, The War in Afghanistan, War crimes, the benefits system. Have I missed anything?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Bullet is a bullet, it is not a head. Ultimately it may seem pedantic, but one is right, the other is not. Generally, we strive to get things right so why not now?

I don't think anyone is advocating calling anything by the wrong terminology. It's just that if someone makes a mistake there isn't a need to come crashing down on them like a ton of bricks!

I agree - but equally there isn't a debate so if someone is corrected, they need to accept the correction!

"First time I have read this thread" Me too.
"Bullet is a bullet, it is not a head" Absolutely
When I were a lad, a long, long time ago the professor of Physiology told us "newbies " that the use of the correct terminology, which he called jargon, marked you out as someone in the know, one of the cognoscenti, a pro. It doesn't matter a damn; it has nothing to do with safety. It does show an attention to detail.
