Does anyone on the forum collect or know anything about Belgian Pinfire Revolvers?

No much, except that they follow the Lefaucheux design and that every artisan gunsmith in Liege seems to have produced them, meaning there are countless different models & that they are 10 a penny on every French Flea-Market.

so could you buy one in France and bring it back to the UK ?

To buy them in France is no problem. They certainly can be found at any "brocantes" I have been to.
I only ever bought for losse change , a cute woman's one with an ivory grip that I keep in France.

I dont know where the UK legislation stands but I guess they are deemed as obsolete caliber ?
Having experienced the efforts required to get through perfectly legal antique blades, I dont know what the view the customs officers would be, even if it were perfectly legal to import.

They are obsolete calibre, I have a few in various calibres and sizes. They are usually made in Belgium, but you sometimes find them with German proof marks.

There’s a plethora of them! Some really good quality, some really poor. Some named, some not. Some very elaborate encrusted with precious metals and gems, others plain old working guns. Some very cheap and some very expensive! It really is nigh on impossible to be more specific! Fascinating era of firearms development coupled with fashion!

I havbe one coming this morning, it was an extremely sensible price so worth a look and who knows, it might even be the start of a collection. Alternatively it will stay on the bench as a talking piece.

cant wait to see it. If you take the grips off you may be lucky to find a manufacturers code stamped underneath.
