Oops yes of course. Whenever I see 6.5 I automatically think 6.5x55 Swedish.

That's normally only an issue in magazine fed rifles. Both Barnard 'S' and 'P' actions will handily accept the 6.5X55 length-wise being single-shot match types. In fact they work well with the yet longer 6.5-284 Norma loaded to match OALs with heavy bullets.

In such applications it's common to find loaded rounds are too long to clear the ejection port front edge, so unloading a live round or FtF example is carried out by withdrawing the bolt from the action.

All in all the S action Barnard I have is faultless.

The 1.7 barrel has had around 6000 rounds through it. It was chambered to take up to 90g bullets. Although never had much joy with them and stuck to 69g and 80G mostly.I measured the chamber recently and it has lengthened a bit.
