A lot of the locals still have them and use them when driving wild boars to the standing guns
They can go "full auto" if the firing pin channel is gummed up so bad, often with old uncleaned Cosmoline, that the firing pin cannot float and is protruding.Very early Tula SKS's didn't suffer from this as they had a spring loaded firing pin but this was dropped in favour of a free floating pin.Sometimes they'll fire a two or three round burst or run until the mag is empty!, not good if someone's fitted a 30 round mag!!!.

Slam fires in the SKS are more likely to occur with commercial primers as military primers tend to be much harder.
