NRA Training Update - 17th September

#1 Post by HeatherW762 »

Please note that the following prices are only applicable to courses run in England as they are Sport England funded.

60% off Current Course Fees

The NRA are delighted to be able to offer current Range Conducting Officer, Club Instructor and Club Coach Courses for vastly reduced delegate fees due to funding secured from Sport England.

The funding is available for the remainder of 2012 and therefore there is only 3 months to take advantage either as a club or as an individual.

RCO Courses at Bisley

The NRA has RCO courses available in October, November and December which delegates can attend for the reduced course fee of £45 thanks to funding from Sport England.

Due to the reduced rate the course places are going quickly and with only a limited availability for each month we would recommend you book now to avoid disappointment.

Email Maureen.peach@nra.org.uk for more details and to book your place.

Regional RCO Courses

Clubs affiliated to the NRA are able to run RCO courses within their region at a suitable range. The NRA will supply funding for range hire and RCO Assessors costs plus delegates will still be able to access the reduced rate of £45 to attend the course.

If your club would like to run an RCO course for members and take advantage of the Sport England funding please email Maureen.peach@nra.org.uk with the following details:

• Club details.
• Range availability.
• Number of delegates from club wishing to take course.
• Club names within the region who could also participate.

The NRA will perform all the necessary administration duties to ensure the course is ready to go from providing the RCO Assessor to contacting delegates with the relevant course information.

Club Instructor

The NRA Club Instructor (General Skills) course is designed to train experienced club shooters to deliver probationary training and assess competence in the safe handling of firearms of club members. This course covers training for gallery rifle, ‘scoped rifle, and iron sighted rifle disciplines but excludes target rifle and muzzle loading firearms.

Due to the availability of Sport England funding the NRA can offer this course for only £45 per delegate.

The next course takes place on the weekend of October 20th & 21st at Bisley to book email Caroline.OConnor@nra.org.uk

Club Coach

The NRA Club Coach course is open to full members of the NRA. Qualified Club Coaches may run NRA TR Skills and Club Instructor courses in addition to carrying out general coaching within their own clubs. The qualification is valid for five years after which time it may be renewed providing the Club Coach has run training/coaching courses during this time. NRA Club Coaches may be required to undergo a CRB check as part of the NRA’s policy on the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults.

Candidates should have already completed the NRA TR Club Instructor or an equivalent course. Applicants for Club Coach must also attend a one-day instructor’s workshop, which covers methods of instruction and assessment. During the course, candidates will be formally assessed giving a classroom lesson to a group of students. The lesson topics will be advised beforehand to allow time for preparation. Candidates will also undergo practical assessment of their coaching on the range.

Due to the availability of Sport England funding the NRA can offer this course for only £45 per delegate

The next course takes place on the weekend of October 27th & 28th at Bisley to book email Caroline.OConnor@nra.org.uk

All course dates can be found at www.nra.org..uk
