Royal Mail Consultation Exercise

Many members may have seen a consultation exercise being run by the Royal Mail. They are proposing to end the carriage of all types of firearms, parts and ammunition through the Inland Letter Postal Scheme, the Inland Parcel Postal Scheme and the equivalent schemes for overseas letters and parcels. This could have significant implications for RFDs and for their customers.

Help to simplify firearms licensing
Are they the full forms were is the bit were you supply references or are they doing away with that.
Why do they need your work place address and telephone numbers how is that relevant the last thing I want is some dumb bell ringing work and telling them I have fire arms.
What if you dont work or are self employed.
Whats wrong with the forms as they are now.?

It clearly states on the BASC site that they are not full forms Dave, although that does make it hard to comment meaningfully.

The current form 101 asks for your work address and telephone number.

Have you fed back to BASC on your concerns?

If that is one page of the new application form and not the full document I dont see how any body could possibly form a opinion on wether its a improvement or not.
I checked you are right about the work address thing not sure how I filled that bit in.Over the last several years I have worked as a limited company.
In fact now I come to think of it I retired ten year ago and since then I have not been directly employed by any of the companies I have worked for.

Any way I digress my guess is the application form will just be another botch up.
