The UKPSA have had 'handgun' matches for quite a few years using LBR's/LBP's. I think the NRA have had LBR/LBP matches for a couple of years but they've made things more formal recently, which is good to see :good:

Bear in mind though they're not 'proper' handguns and neither organisation is actively lobbying for the reintroduction of proper handguns on S1, its just using what is currently legal in matches based upon old handgun CoF

Oh, ok thought things might be moving in the right direction certainly would help if both these organisations worked together on this, sort of a pincer movement.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

James

Sorry mate I'm not taking the p out of you personally but the thought of them all getting together and working for a common good is very very funny...

Trying to find out more about this but can't see much. Do the NRA now run UK IPSC?

I don't think it's been decided yet. The NRA are running their own target shotgun league and working with the 4 islands guys to promote matches around the country. Some of the 4I courses of fire look brilliant! I'm assuming that they'll have to adhere to IPSC CoF if they get the matches though

I used to enjoy IPSC Pistol, would be good to see it here in the UK again.

I am sure some on this forum have contacts in Northern Ireland and could arrange to do some IPSC pistol if they desired.

Are IPSC NI able to lend to mainland uk shooters who have FACs. Also since I may very well move to the isle of man in future for family reasons, I may like to take part in IPSC comps. Is it just pistol, or do you do full three gun (I figure my vz58/whatever new system comes out by that time (possibly lantac), a pistol and section 1 shottie would make it almost like the pre 1988 days, don't you think?
