BASC have no active role on LAG

#1 Post by gunsmoke »

It is reported on Pigeon Watch that BASC no longer have an active role on the Lead Ammuntition Group.

It all started when someone asked why the BASC logo had been removed from the LAG web site on Firday. A BASC spokesman said that it would have looked wrong for it to be there as BASC no longer had an active role on the LAG.

The logo was replace on Monday morning.

The BASC spokesman when on the say that shooting interests are being looked after by the Countryside Alliance, this means that BASC, the largest shooting organisation, has no say in the final report of the LAG.

To prove my report there is a video on youtube:

BASC logo still there when I checked this morning!

According to the minutes of the Nov meeting:
1.2. The Chairman reported that he had now retired from BASC. Although BASC continue to cover his costs he is now acting independently, and he has stressed this point with BASC. No other conflicts of interest were declared.
and Dr Matt Ellis (Secretariat) is listed as representing BASC.

Go figure?
