Just seen on facebook that Hobson Way (the road to short siberia) has been fully repaired and resurfaced :goodjob:

Bout time, was like a farm track, a bad one at that.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

They haven't sealed it with proper non-porous tarmac, just put more gravel on top and tamped it down.

I give it two cold winters before it's back to being a potholed mess.

Its protected by English Nature or something similar so can't use tarmac - has to be a certain type of sand/gravel

Allow me to be original and urge the NSC to build a proper road and tell whichever meddlers it is to f*** off.

Perhaps they have special newts there that can only exist on a diet of sand and gravel...

Or point out that laying a decent road requires all the environmentally unfriendly machinery etc on site once every 50 years as opposed to redoing a bad job once every 5 years. bo...cks all over.
