First because the additional cabling and ducting costs, second because it would require a bigger target (which might not fit folded down in the space behind the crest of the mantlet when we do want to use conventional targets) and third because most off-the-shelf systems as used in huge numbers in Europe only go to 300m. There are other subsidiary reasons. We want this to work "out of the box" so we are avoiding all avoidable complexities.
the part in bold is all I need to know, stick with a proven design and keep costs down, no need to reinvent the wheel, good job!

Are these new targets or the ones at 300m in the 'sheds' on the first few targets on Century?

New, the ones in the 'Sheds' don't belong to the NRA.

A preferred contractor has been selected, technical discussions have taken place, and we know what we want to buy and how we will install and run it. Loads and loads of detail still to be agreed.

Good news. I used the electronic targets in the 'Sheds' at 300 a couple of weeks ago and they were fantastic.

If the NRA does something similar, I think it would be a great development.

Are the plans to put them in butt 19?
