Most accurate .22LR semi-auto

#1 Post by meles meles »

Forgive us, oomans, if we're opening a can of worms here, but what in your opinion is the most accurate and reliable semi-auto .22LR ? We know Martini action and bolt action .22LR rifles can be astonishingly accurate, even in our paws, but can any semi-autos approach that performance? And do so, reliably ? Not necessarily tacticool black guns, though they aren't excluded from contention if they are good enough, but maybe Browning SA-22s or humble Brnos? We're thinking of sub MoA accuracy and faultless feeding...

The Remington Nylon 66 would be hard to beat on both scores.

Hello
I have a standard Ruger 10/22 its not a tack driver but it certainly gets the job done at 25M
faultless feeding and with 10/15/25 round magazines what more could you ask.

We specified a tack driver... and we'd like it to work with almost any ammo grades, not just premium high velocity canned bangs.

What’s the requirement for driving tacks? Mine will do 50 hole on hole if you want to sit there with it rested.

Ideally, we'd like a single ragged hole at 100 mards, but will settle for 1" at that distance.

I have been impressed with the accuracy of my Smith & Wesson M&P-22. So far it has been right around MOA.

I had a 10/22 with a VQ carbon bentz chamber barrel that shot exceptionally well.

Now I have a CMMG with a bentz chamber Walther Lothar barrel that shoots really well, I seldom bother to measure groups. I'm just happy if the group is inside the 2" orange targets I use.
