.17hmr moderator. Recommendations?

#1 Post by PaulCat »

A recent night out was ruined by shots disappearing in all directions except toward the quarry. A bit of poking around revealed that the moderator's internals have chosen to return to their original minerals and run out the ends.

So, which to buy as a replacement? I like the look of the PES over barrel model (to keep the overall length down), does anyone have experience of these?

Stick a SAK on it. Cheap, cheerful and as good as any on the .17 HMR.

SAK are cheap and ok for the money but for quality and function I would recommend a Wildcat
Anschutz Supermatch54, CZ452 LTH, Savage 16 FCSS 223, Ruger No1 243,
Enfield No4 Mk1/2 303, Mauser M18 308, Martini Henry Mk3 577/450, Chiappa 1892 357mag, Franchi Affin 12g, Miroku Mk38 GD5 Trap 12g, Ugartechea BLE SxS 12g, BSA R10 22, Webley Alecto 177

Thanks folks. I opted for the cheap, but more importantly in stock so immediately available, AT. Similar price to a SAK and also a disposable item.

I read reviews and frankly the difference of 2-3dB doesn't really warrant the extra money. The hmr will always crack. Anyway, mission accomplished. Thanks for the replies.

Sak is fine tried a few no difference to mention save your dosh. Also you can have the best mod on the market fire it in open field great. Take it near buildings or woods and it blows your ears off. Stick with the sak
