M&P 15/22 Barrel Removal Tool
Does anyone here have a barrel removal tool and can give me some dimensions please?
I can't bring myself to pay £25+p&p for a length of tube with some flats machined on and a couple of pegs, when I work over an engineering factory. Seems like something that could be knocked up in 10 minutes or so... I note that they're for sale in the US for $10 or so, but over here it's £25+
If anyone has one to hand and can give me some dimensions, the length (Although I imagine I could work that out by the length of the handguard), width of the prongs at the barrel nut end, and OD of the tube used, that would be great...

If you measured off your rifle wouldn't that give you the dimensions?
Show it to an engineer in the factory below and no doubt they'd be able to take the measurements directly if you haven't the correct measuring tools.

The problem with this is that the nut that needs removing with this tool is inside the forend, so it's obscured to take the measurements by the rail I wish to remove...Mattnall wrote:If you measured off your rifle wouldn't that give you the dimensions?

I'll do it when I get home. I tried making one from info on the S&W forum from PVC pipe but the 'teeth' weren't strong/thick enough.
Worse comes to worse I can just send you mine for a lend for the postage cost (Probs £2.80 each way)
