#1 Post by Dellboy »

Ruger 10/22 rail screws have been stripped on an old gun . I was thinking maybe helicoil either standard thread or slightly larger so ;

Anyone know the standard size please ?

Anyone gone up a size and or helicoiled the action ?

Yes, that is the best solution, small helicoils are not ideal for such issues and require tapping to the helicoil thread anyway.

IIRC the original holes are tapped 6-48, tapping them out to 8-40 or 4x0.7 should work.
