Expect 5-6 months. Any quicker is a bonus.

In theory just over three months. In reality? Hmmmm.

Cheers everyone, I was expecting about 6 months so any quicker is a bonus. Can’t rush these things

Back in the mid eighties, when, I believe, there were more FACs in existence, TVP would generally manage to get everything done in about six weeks for a first time application. Back then there was no easy access to information via computers - it was all paper based. Yet here we are a little over thirty years on with all the benefits of computer technology and it takes the police the best part of six months to process an application. Can't rush these things? Fat chance!

My initial grant with West Mercia was processed in in around 7 weeks, from submitting my application, being visited and my FAC dropping through the letterbox!
