Condensation in my cabinets
As above, now that it’s getting cold I’ve started to get condensation in my gun cabinets which are in the loft.
Any tips tricks to remedy this?
Cheers in advance

Re: Condensation in my cabinets
Its why putting cabinets in the loft is not a good idea.
Silica gel packs will help a bit, but if you have visible condensation inside the cabinet, then that is already too much moisture for silica bags to remove on a constant basis even changing every other day.

Insulate the inside and outsides of the cabinet so the temperature shift isnt so harsh?

Re: Condensation in my cabinets
I lined the inside of my cabinets with polystyrene sheet and it solved my problems with condensation.

Low wattage light bulb in the bottom of the cabinet
Never argue with an idiot, he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Re: Condensation in my cabinets
If there is visible condensation then you deffo don't want to store your guns there. As others have said, once the condensation gets that bad silica gel won't be enough. Ideally, move the cabinet to a heated area out of the loft, and dry it thoroughly before putting the guns back in. If that's not possible, insulation or a low heat source might work, as suggested previously, but at least dry out the cabinet first!
Re: Condensation in my cabinets
My cabinets were in the loft in my last house and i had a similar problem.. as a short term solution i placed sachets of Napier VP90 in the safes and this along with storing the rifles in silicone gun socks worked perfectly for a year until we moved!
