It became law in May 2019. You can still retain possession of any of the banned items till the surrender period is announced, and if you were to sell, buy, gift, trade or exchange, you would be committing an offence.
The Draft Surrender of Offensive Weapons (Compensation) Regulations 2020 is making its way through the house and I’d imagine the new year will see it finalised. But given we don’t even know who we can have round for Christmas dinner, the time frame could easily be bounced given the times.

Yep they're SO dangerous we simply can't be trusted with them, 2 years later they MIGHT think about perhaps announcing when you have to hand them in. What a joke.

Does anyone know of a dealer who would value an Indian Swordstick - I am sure it will be worth far more thna the £30 ....

No problem in disposing of this one - it is pretty awful and cheaply made.
