We are gagging for range time with the MOD remaining intransigent with regard to field firing ranges (Salisbury plain etc), Rogiet moor shutdown, Kingsbury seemingly cancelled more often than not.

What is badly lacking is decent distances, the opportunity to put out variable targetry such as reactive steels at distances the user wants and freedom from MOD obstructiveness.
All at affordable prices.
This means user participation in perhaps providing targetry but certainly helping with setup and takedown of same.

If shooters are not willing in this regard then costs will need to rise to help the range owner .

I have seen first-hand and particiipated in what it takes to setup on Salisbury Plain and at the Roundhouse PRL challenges...... it is a LOT of work!

I hope this initiative happens!

Could I ask the OP to put this thread on UKV as well please?

It will attract a firestorm of interest!

If this is a realistic prospect then updates would be MOST appreciated.
My shooting over 2019 was severely curtailed with the loss of Salisbury Plain , Rogiet Moor etc

I have to be honest and say that paper targetry has lost its appeal.

When we setup steels at Salisbury you could shoot random distances all day long at your own pace and at targets ranging from standard gongs and IPSC to knock down / pop up figures and even half gas tubes which ring like bells...... way more interesting than fixed distance Bisley stuff!

Willing to help if required.

I'd be interested if the location and fees are right

Thanks for the responses guys.

We are in the process of setting up a club, we will then join the NRA and see what shooting is possible on the site.

I will post updates and site photos later on....
