Why doesn't he/she just ask his/her licensing authority who will be able to answer his/her question for him/her instead of having people speculating on a shooting forum? A ten-minute phone call as opposed to a six-week debate on here answers their questions and does away with all the boring back and forward stuff on here.

I have been asked how many firearms can you as an individual own?
He was told that anymore than 12 is classed as an armoury
This is what my Local Force told me too. I could have more but would need to build a strong room with monitored alarms if I want more. I have 12 in 2 cabinets with 4 ammo cabinets, offsite recorded cctv and burglar alarm at home. My cabinets are underground in my basement.

Security is directly related to the risk, numbers quoted by certification departments is arbitary unless used in the context of the specific risk in each case.

People need to read the HO guidance on firerams security and be informed by that and that includes certification departments.

One of the reasons why firearms certification is such a mess in this country is because certificate holders acquiess to made up rules by certifcation departments. If not challenged then they will continue to make stuff up, as legal gun owners have no nation bodies representing gun owners legal interests in the UK then it falls even more onto existing and aspring certifcate holders to challenge certification departments made up rules which in most cases only inconvieneces legal firearms owners with doing anything to ensure public safety.
