All he has done is turned the NRA into a profitable organisation from one that was rapidly going down the pan---and done it in an amazingly short time. Plus, improving the roads, improving the maintenance of the toilets, improving Melville range, improving Chelsymore range, getting the old Gallery range back into service---etc. etc.
We don't need someone like this---if he carries on, we won't have anything to whinge about!

There is however a moral and ethical underpinning to freemasonry, whereas my experience of the NRA hasn't been quite so positive.

I'm glad I don't keep any of my firearms there any more if the paragraph is true. Although I've learnt not to trust the press when they're telling their stories.
Careful now/that sort of thing

I tend to agree. Mercer is a professional estate manager and seems to be doing a good job.
"A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn".

Undoubtedly something that should not have happened and from the account given could have been handled better.
However its a bit of a one sided story.
As for Mr. Mercers performance so far, So he's said a few things people don't like and in this case been caught out by part of the organisation he took over and has proved to be not working as it should.
No doubt the armoury would have said it was in fine order had it been asked before the event, now things need addressing.
As for Mr. Mercer paying for the mistake, a ridiculous statement, unless you also allow him to keep any profit the organisation makes.
As with everything in life there are pluses and minuses, as it stands in my opinion the NRA seems to be steadily moving in the plus direction.

Artiglio, this is not about money. It's about integrity. Since he's been proved to be in the wrong, it's clear that his integrity is lacking - this is the NRA's cock-up. I don't have an issue with him overseeing a cock-up like this. My problem with him is that when he's been called on it, he's done something besides apologise and try to fix it.

As per the article, I wonder what other kinds of theft from the NRA armoury have been uncovered by the Surrey Police.
