Nice. Are you an RFD or did you have one import the parts for you?

I’d love to spec my own up one day and build it myself with an RFD then proof it etc.

Nope, it was built by NW Custom parts.

Few trips up to see Wayne to sort the spec and get some hands on and choose what I wanted. All part of the fun.

My new Winchester underleaver shotgun, 5 in the tube, 1 on the lifter and 1 in the barrel, a seven shot repeating shotgun from 1887 and it works a dream. Black powder only but easy to strip and clean.

Hurrah ! Collected this afternoon...

Uberti 1873 .357 Short Rifle
Managed to secure one after some searching - 20" Octagonal Barrel.
Stocked up on both 38 Special and 357 Mag to have a decent run out and ascertain what suits best when I hit the range this evening.

I have a similar gun.

Due to the length of the cartridge lifter I discovered that .38 Special cases suit my gun best. The overall length of the cartridge is critical as the gun is very sensitive to cartridge length. Some 'wiggle' room is required so the cartridge freely enters the chamber upon closing the action and not jam on the lifter. It's worth trying different bullet weights and shapes which have an effect on overall length and reliability to find a combination that works in your gun.

You will not be disappointed with the Uberti - I have a 1873 finished in the white and absolutely love it. Happy shooting.
