Thanks all, I spent the day wandering around the Wolds with a wet shotgun and an even wetter Labrador. I was impressed by the quality of the birds despite the weather and they certainly kept the Labrador occupied.
On a downside, the Beretta I was shooting was going rusty even before the day was over, I dried and oiled it yesterday however I am going to have to strip it completely today just to be 100% sure it is OK as they tend to rust from the inside out these days.
