In my opinion, a rep that does not contact the people he/she is a rep for...useless.

Hold on here people, the NRA Rep may well be dealing with other clubs in your area and has just not got around to yours yet.

From what I have read here several clubs do not even know who the person is, the first thing to do when elected is to contact the clubs or the secretaries in the area to make sure if any questions they can contact the rep...so give out contact details. Introduce yourself.

Well I would have to ask did the members of the 'several clubs' vote in the last NRA regional election, if so then there must be bigger clubs in the area voting the other way and/or more NRA members of a different discipline and so in different clubs in the area.

Rog, did you stand for the position in the end?

I did. I also stated that I would attend the majority of Council meetings and go out and meet the clubs.
I do know that the rep has contacted the local club's secretaries, but I am of the opinion that the NRA rep NEEDS to put himself about to do any good.
I had wished he would respond on this forum and correct me where I am wrong (and I do readily concede I am wrong on occasion!), but he seems to have retreated (hurt maybe) after his one and only foray on here.
The losers in all this are the Northern shooters and also the NRA themselves.
I concede I may have not been the ideal candidate as I can and do ruffle a few feathers now and then but I can never be accused of running and hiding.

I dont know the guy never met him have no idea what he is like. What kind of shooting he does were he shoots. What is back ground his.
I know my club Secretary has had dealings with the Guy and he was not impressed. But I dont know I have been shooting in The North East of England in one way or other for at least 20 years and probably more all I know is that year on year it gets harder to find ranges. Every time you go to a range there are less shooters on the firing point because we are all old men. No new blood coming in to the sport. Its the Clubs old die hards who are keeping it going.
Forget about the North East Rep tell me what the National Rifle Association is going to do to promote shooting in the North East of England what are they going to do to make ranges available to me. To stop there decline. To bring new blood in to the sport how are they gong to do that. My Northern rep is deafening in his silence tell me what you are going to do to help your North East shooters to continue with there sport. I am willing to support you I will donate to the NRA get involved all you have to do is make it clear to me what your policy is for promoting shooting in the North East of England.

Hi Heather,

any chance of some names to go in the frames?

Addressing some Dear Mr SouthernNRARep is a bit pants and the shooting community is a lot more relaxed and unformal than a few years ago.

Thanks
