Bridgeton Range, Speyside

Spent a quiet (ish - Clay's were getting hammered next door! :good: ) couple of hours at Bridgeton Range (50m) on Sunday working on some loads for my 300BLK and having some fun with my son's Ruger 96/22. The 300BLK is a single shot Bergara B13 takedown (1:8 twist 16 inch barrel).

Even with the data available (which all indicated subsonic velocities) I could not for the life of me get a load that was subsonic - I did however, produce this 7 round group (with the obligatory stray one 8-) ) with Roger's 200gn cast bullets. Subsonic would have been nice but I can't complain about that sort of accuracy.

Except when I was trying the cycle the action as fast as possible, it feed flawlessly fron the extended mags. Great fun and if I didn't already have something else in mind I'd have one for myself... :good:

Well the 300BLK looks to be getting the job done, what weight bullets are you shooting?

200gn in both cast (Thanks Roger :good: ) and Lapua subs.

The following two 3 round groups were with Lapua subs and Lil'gun powder.

As good as the top group is - when all things considered, it'll be Rogers cast bullets from now on.

BTW this is the Bergara all packed away clapclap

lol They sure do! I'm now tempted to try some of your 240gn cast to see how they perform.
