There isn't anything new - details wise - that will have changed.
What was their reason? No club can have members who refuse consent simply because the HO requires certain data is kept and where necessary, communicated to the police.

Meeting legal requirements is a reason to process personal data that may not require positive consent.

I've spent over an hour doing mandatory training for work on the GDPR... managed 100% in the test and I now have a certificate....

I have also sent a reply to Full-bore to say that I want to remain a member...

Yes, a good example is an RFD register, as a customer this is something you cannot opt out of.
