My eyes are 75 years old now, and I really notice it when shooting. These iron sights are a struggle but I don't like scopes. I fitted one to my No4 but soon took it off. Seems like cheating with these old rifles!

I can see a day in the near future when it will be parting of the ways with shooting.

The rest of me is fine though.!!!

You've got a couple of decades on me, so fair play. I hope I'm still shooting in 20 years time, but, yes as you say, we all know there will be a time when we have to accept it will be time to hang up the holster so to speak.

I've got no problem with appropriate period scope setups on these old girls, but then I have a real No.4(T) to play with alongside my No.5.
I also have a genuine mint condition WW2 era German sniper scope as well, but I just need another K98k to fit that to as I don't want to fit it to my current original Kriegsmarine issue one.
