Bored.....

#1 Post by Blighty »

Self-isolation can be a right bummer. Anyone up for a show and tell thread? I have a collection of military ammo on stripper clips in the attic that I can dig out for discussion and I’m pretty sure that there are some of you have life long collections of crap that they’re dying to show off.

Shooting is off the menu at the moment so I need something to fill my days.

C’mon, the world needs to see your collection of magazines/butt plates/medals/slings!

Bugger......

I had a loft full of such crap up until last year, all collected since the late 80's.

I sold it all to a dealer last year prior to a house move.

I'm up for that, I have a room full of "another green bag!?" as my wife calls it. Could definitely do with some insights in to a lot of it. As 12 weeks is going to be a long time! I've already told my son that I'm enhancing his remote learning with everything Lee Enfield. He seems up for it at the moment!

That’s the spirit!

Pretty sure that I’ve shot worse than this. Great War 7.92. Still has remains of cloth bandolier stuck to it.

Long time since I looked at any of this but I seem to remember that this clip of 7.62x51 drill rounds was made in Norway. Made from WW2 dated 30-06 cases.

Wooden bullet blanks. I know that some of them are MG or Bren rounds and wouldn’t have come in clips. Top left are of interest as they are all Great War German. Something in the back of my mind says that the two rings around each case indicate the number of times that they refilled (sounds an arse ache to do but they are German after all). Any ideas?

I can't say no to cleaning kits!

A long the top: WW2 German, West German and Unified, British GPMG and various SA80 and combined one.

Group lower left: Russian AK74? & Bulgarian AK47 (metal Tubes), Blue canvas - Eastern block?, Mid brown plastic looking pouch I think is East German, Canvas bag and string WW2 Russian?. Tan leather pouch is French and a Swiss one to its right.

Middle: British post WW2 tins .303 and 7.62. WW2 and post oilers and pull throughs.

Group lower right: Post WW2 M1 Carbine, various M16 kits ranging from possible? Vietnam to Gulf Wars. Silver tube - either Springfield or Garand.

However, I am more than happy to be corrected.
