I reloaded for my .30 rifles at one time but when surplus .30 ball became plentiful and affordable I gave up reloading it. When I did reload .30-06 I used IMR 4895 and pulled M2 bullets. Before the government began the transfer of ammunition to the CMP they contracted for the demil of ammunition, the components of which were then sold on the open market. I bought oodles of .30 M2 ball bullets which I used for .30 and 7.5 MAS and .30 M72 NM bullets (really just the bullet from the M1 ball round) that I use in my Swiss K31s.

Prior to the availability of M2 bullets I used Remington 150 gr spire points and Hornady 150 gr FMJBT. I also loaded Hornady 168 gr BTHPs.

The Hornady 168 is around the same weight as the M2AP however it looks like you have to stoke it up a bit to achieve the 2,775fps of the AP
