Scrap bin find.

If you are making it or modifying it, repairing it or restoring it, it goes in here.

I like the look of that it gave me an idea.

I just wish I could make use of the stuff. I am not a machinist.

Ah - Not my idea or photo, just grabbed it of the net as an example of repurposing stuff.

This is a picture of a homemade barrel tuner, fitted, I believe to an Annie54. I'm particularly taken with this idea of a tuner as it attempts to tune out vertical and lateral errors, rather than just the vertical error that most tuners are designed to remedy. The micrometre could be just a bolt but having a graduated scale makes it more repeatable and precise. We, as a country seem very slow to catch on to barrel tuners on rimfire rifles.

An under slung tuner is a novel concept. I have built them for centre fire rifles but only as an end of barrel device.

The theory for the "off centre" tuner is that you rotate the whole mass round to tune out lateral error, then you do the "fore and aft" adjustment to correct the vertical error. I would be nice to have a tunnel range to play these games, I think there's a lot we need to learn about rimfire accuracy.

I looked barrel tuners up its not some thing I am familiar with. Reminded me a bit about the pistol shooting days when you would add barrel weights.
