Bullet pulling

#1 Post by @nd »

Hi all I'm after some advice please.
Have just pulled about 50 cartridges to reload, the pulled bullets were lead with gas checks.
In half a dozen the lead bullet has come out but the gas check is still in the cartridge, How is best to remove the gas check or at least make the safe.
The powder is trail boss if that helps.
Thanks @nd

I get as much powder out first, pushing the check all the way in if necessary. Then, with the case upside down, vigorously shake until I have the check sideways on in the neck, then reach in and pull out with thin nose pliers.

I just re-expand the neck a tad with an "M" die and it just drops out.

You really cannot load cast bullets properly without an appropriately sized "M" die style expander, never mind removing stuck gas checks.
