9mm availability after SGC lever-release rifles are banned?

I am particularly fond of the 9mm pistol cartridge. Assuming the worst and that the government do ban our SGC Lever-release rifles, I'm wondering what the availability of 9mm factory ammunition & reloading components will be in years to come?

There are a couple of options for 9mm chambered guns that will be legal for the foreseeable future.... but if 9mm ammunition stock drys up due to no further demand from SGC 9mm owners, then potentially I could end up with a gun that is hard to find ammunition for, well at least in decent quantities.

I also have .357 ..... so it might make more sense to go for another gun in that popular calibre.

What do you guys think?

You’re over thinking it. There are still guns out there chambered for 9mm. All of that factory ammo was there well before the lever release. Components abound as well...

Can the lever release guns not have a new upper without gas port and pipe to become straight pull?

No. That was one of the things that Fat Bob did to ensure that uppers and lowers weren’t interchangeable with other “ARs”, so that the blowback/gas operated uppers couldn’t be dropped into a standard lower, giving an instant “proper” semi auto. The locking pin positions on the uppers and lowers of thevlever release are in a slightly different place.

SGC could possibly do the .223 and .308 rifles, the 9mm is blowback so they would need to incorporate the locking lugs and rotating bolt of an AR to lock it up until manually opened.

If remember right Black Rifle haven't had any 9mm plated bullets in their last shipments, read into that what you want.I'm sure there will ammo and components available probably just not as much as now.

This is partly why I posted this question... I've used a lot of the LOS plated 9mm from Black Rifle.

I've now put in a variation for another .357 Mag gun as I think it will make more sense in the long run.

well if they do get banned, I'm hoping I might be able to pick up a load of cheap 9mm for other guns

Why someone doesn't bring out a straight-pull MP5 clone i don't know, i think they'd sell like hot cakes!
